We are honored that our humble storefront captured the attention of our friendly local firehouse EMS team, who chose it as their symbol of the neighborhood for their new uniform patch! They wanted to represent the vibrant arts scene of lower Manhattan, so they took our little slice of Sullivan Street and added some guitars to suit their "rockn" theme.
Now the 63rd precinct of FDNY - EMS will wear our neighborhood proudly on their uniform wherever they go! Not only are they brave, they have great taste too!

We are anxiously awaiting the arrival of Joelle's new book, Last Minute Patchwork + Quilted Gifts! According to the UPS website, our shipment will be arriving at both Purl Patchwork and purlsoho.com on Monday September 10th!
Joelle's second book is a beautiful collection of heartfelt gifts that can accommodate any busy crafter's schedule and skills. You'll find a wealth of inspiration and patterns for all sorts of projects, arranged according to the amount of time required to complete them, from about 2 to 12 hours.
Habu Textiles creates ethereal patterns to compliment their incredible yarns. The Kusha Kusha scarf showcases Silk Stainless and Superfine Merino. Silk, merino wool, and stainless steel? That's no typo, that is a one-of-a-kind combination! After knitting, the Kusha Kusha scarf is washed, which felts the merino wool and renders the fabric as light as a feather.
Our friends at Habu were kind enough to share the Kusha Kusha Scarf pattern with The Purl Bee!
This pretty tote bag was designed by Elisa, an Italian knitter and blogger who saw the Climbing Trellis Lace Pattern here on the Purl Bee. She calls it her "No More Plastic Bag, Thank You!" It is a fast knit that takes only a few hours to complete.
We would choose this dainty and durable tote over a plastic bag any day!
