First Two Blocks!

My roommate took this action shot of me hard at work! The two experimental blocks are shaping up.  They are sort of log cabin blocks, but with concentric rings.   I wanted to really let the patterns play against each other, and I thought that would work best with a bigger area of each print isolated between solid colors. I am cutting 2 1/2-inch wide strips of both the solid fabrics and the prints.

I wouldn't have imagined I would have liked the large scale print in strips as well as I do! It is so nice to see a different take on the fabric than what I had in mind.

Originally I thought you meant Block A would be one solid and one print (as it is) and Block B would be two prints and two solids, but it looks like Block B is two prints and one solid (4 layers) - is that right?

Also - depending on how dense the big print is - using the fabric in strips as you are is often a nice way to include those otherwise imposing prints. :) Can't wait to see more.
