I saw your tote bag on a blog, I hope I could knit it myself (I'm a beginner and french... It's hard to understand knitting specific terms lol)

Usually when there is a situation like this the knitter is leaving out or putting in an extra yarn-over somewhere along the way, or forgetting a knit 2 together somewhere else, usually right at the beginning or right at the end of the row. Check your knitting to see if this is what is happening to you, if not let us know and we'll see what we can do to help further!
Good luck! --Joelle
I was most nervous about the I-cord handle, and it turned out to be "not as hard" as I thought. I am making this one as a gift for a friend, then I am making another in a chocolate brown cotton for myself. :)
i love this pattern - making my first one right now and it is easy and quick to knit up on the train! (i live in nyc)
thanks for posting this! will get lots of use out of it and it will make great presents. something to knit during the warmer months!
For i-cord, you slip the stitches to the opposite end of the needle and knit (no purling). Here is a link to our i-cord tutorial, hopefully this will help you out!

Thanks in advance for the help.
You'll probably need two skeins, unless you make a small bag. I'm not familiar with the yarn, but its worth a try. If you don't like how it turns out you can always pull project out and reuse the yarn.
Hope this helps!

I think this is a great pattern, and I am going to knit it for my friend who is moving to southeast Asia. I was wondering, has anyone tried knitting it in the round, and if so, can you tell me how to do it? I've changed other patterns from straight needles to circular needles, but this one is a lot more complicated. Any ideas?
Thanks!
I do have a big problem with the handle though! The instructions were easy to follow (I paid close attention this time, and did it after the little ones were in bed!) and it LOOKS great, but it made the top so much smaller that it'll be hard to fit things in! What did I do wrong? To tight knitting? Should I have left more space between the two handles??? I really want to try again (and follow the directions!) but want to be sure I can manage the handle!
Love this bag!!
