Eva's Alchemy Synchronicity Scarf

eva2.jpg

Fall is in full swing up here at school, and I desperately needed a new scarf to keep out the chill. Of course, it needed to be more than just warm!

I already had the perfect yarn:  two luscious skeins of Alchemy Synchronicity in Soft Turquoise.  I chose Synchronicity because it is incredibly warm and soft, with a little bit of silky glow to it.

I am a beginning knitter, and the pattern did not work - I ripped it out and started over repeatedly. Then I went to Jen's basketweave scarf that was referenced in the entry. Jen's pattern (row 1) is knit, purl, knit, purl, and ends on KNIT - THIS pattern ends in PURL. So when you start Row 2 (on purl), the two patterns are creating different stitches. Jen's pattern is basketweave, not sure what this pattern is. I am now doing Rows 1-5: K5, P5, K5, P5, K5, P5. Rows 6-10: P5, K5, P5, K5, P5, K5. Repeat. Perfect basketweave, coming along nicely. If you end on purl, start the next row on knit, and vice versa.

I have been trying to find a nice knitting pattern to make my own scarf as well and I must say that this basketweave stitch pattern is very lovely. Thank you for posting pictures of the scarf you made it looks great :)
