NEEDLES: US size 5 double-pointed needles
NOTIONS: 1 stitch marker
GAUGE: 7 stitches per inch in K1, P1 Rib pattern. Important! I measured the swatch without stretching or pulling it at all.
Cast on 40 stitches. Join into a round.
Work K1, P1 Rib for 28 rows or desired length to wrist.
Begin Thumb Gusset:
Note: Make one (M1) by picking up the bar between two stitches, placing it on your left needle, and knitting it through the back of the loop with your right needle.
Row 1: Rib to last 2 stitches. K1, M1, P1.
Row 2: Rib to last 3 stitches. K1, P1, M1, P1.
Row 3: work Rib pattern.
Row 4: Rib to last 4 stitches. K1, P1, M1, K1, P1.
Row 5: Rib to last 5 stitches. K1, P1, K1, M1, K1, P1.
Row 6: Work Rib pattern.
Row 7: Rib to last 6 stitches. K1, P1, K1, M1, P1, M1, K1, P1.
Row 8: Work Rib pattern.
Row 9: Rib to last 6 stitches. K1, P1, M1, K1, M1, P1, K1, P1.
Rows 10 - 12: Work Rib pattern.
Row 13: Rib to last 10 stitches. Bind off last 10 stitches. Continue Rib pattern, closing the thumb gusset and taking the stitches on either side of the thumb gusset into the pattern.
Row 14: Work Rib pattern for 3 rows.
Eyelet Row: *K2tog, yo, repeat from * to end of row.
