My inspiration came from two things:  the yarn I'm using and an old book I had as a kid.  Kate Greenaway is a British illustrator who lived in the 19th century.  Her little girls always wore these pretty fingerless gloves. I wanted to use Alchemy Sanctuary because it is so soft and light, and because it is GORGEOUS!  The color is called Grass Harp.  I'm calling them my Greenaway Gloves. --Isabelle

I clicked on the link and couldn't find a skein called Grass Harp - did you snag the last one? ;-) I found a beautiful Kate Greenaway tin in a local secondhand/antique store, and I think I might tuck a skein or two inside along with a pattern as a Christmas present for my sister.

What a nice idea! I love project gifts, and that tin sounds like a real treasure. I'm sure that our friends at Alchemy are mixing up a new batch of Grass Harp for us. In the meantime, you can always call Purl and ask them to scout around for one.

I love these, I'm on a second pair for a second friend!

I would like to make them in a finer gauge, with smaller needles -- eg, about 9 stitches to the inch. Can you tell me how I would adapt this pattern for that?

thanks
