Rotary cutting can be intimidating to the uninitiated but with a few instructions and tips it can be both safe and easy. Rotary cutting is a true time saver and makes such clean and accurate cuts that once you learn how to do it you'll never look back! --Molly

this is brilliant! thank you! now... to conquer my total puzzlement about using a rotary cutter along a curve. can it be done?

Dear Nancy,
You can cut along a curve with a rotary cutter, though they are really designed for straight cuts. To cut along a curve, it is easier to use a smaller rotary cutter. We recommend practicing with some muslin or other inexpensive fabric until you get the hang of it.
