Introduction to Machine Piecing and Quilting with Cassandra

In this class you will learn the basic skills required to make a quilt with a sewing machine; Rotary cutting, lining up seams, and simple machine quilting. Students make a baby size quilt. Basic machine sewing skills recommended.

Machine Sewing with Cassandra

This class presents an introduction to sewing by machine for the very beginner. Students will make a simple tote bag. We will learn essential sewing vocabulary, how to properly thread and sew with the machine, the way to accurately measure and cut fabric, how to follow a simple pattern and other fundamental sewing skills. No previous sewing experience is necessary.

Free Form Patchwork Quilting with Cassandra
$85
This class presents an innovative method for creating reversible patchwork pieces, free from the constraints of traditional quilt patterns. We will cover reversible and non-reversible variations, rotary cutting, and hand sewing with perle cotton and other threads that add a simple decorative element to the patchwork. The reversible variation creates a unique two-sided piece, which can be used to make placemats, coasters, window coverings, or wherever your imagination takes it. While the class will focus on hand sewing, it is also easily adaptable to machine sewing. No previous sewing experience required.

Quilt Making by Hand with Cassandra

Learn all the skills, from cutting to piecing to quilting, to make a small quilt entirely by hand. No sewing experience is necessary.

Applique with Cassandra
$85
Appliqué is a technique used for applying designs onto a background fabric. While often used for quilts, it can be used to apply a design or shape onto almost any fabric (kids' clothes, totebags, etc.). In this class two session class, students will learn two methods for traditional hand-sewn appliqué, using a lotus flower pattern specially designed for the class. Simple and portable, it's great for summer projects.

Whether you are an experienced quilter or a beginning crafter, you will create exciting, rut-breaking work that will change the way you think about color, patchwork, and your own creativity.

Because our shop is small, our classes are very limited in size. Cancellations must be made 48 hours before the start of the first class and no make up classes will be offered.
