I am wondering if there is a typo? Seven skeins of yarn seems like a lot for a sleeveless bolero like this, although I do realize ribbing takes more yarn than stockinette...

Dear Theresa,
The Road to China yarn comes in 50 gram skeins (rather than 100 gram skeins) so they aren't as long as some of the yarns out there at this gauge. The total yardage needed is 560 yards which might sound more reasonable. You are right that because it is a rib stitch it takes more yardage than stockinette. Let us know if you have any other questions.

Intriguing... I wonder if I could modify this amazing garment to fit my toddler? I'll certainly try and let you know the results. Thank you!

I saw that this is for a 36-42 inch chest. I usually wear 32-34 - are there any alterations I can make so I could wear this? I love the pattern, but am afraid it would hang oddly on me because of the sizing.

Hi! I found your pattern via the Craft: blog. It's very cute and I thought it would make a feasible first-ever real knitting project. I've started working on it and so far, so good. But I've been trying to figure out if something is a typo or user error on my part. When I followed the the pattern for the bottom--first 20 rows--my ribs didn't look right. I experimented a little and found, if taken far enough, the ribs start to march diagonally, not vertically as shown in the photo. I experimented a little more and found if I repeated both rows 1 and 2 instead of just 2, then the ribs worked out fine. Also, I found the instruction "knitting the knit stitches and purling the purl stitches" confusing. This might be because I'm a newbie, but I was under the impression that for ribbing it would be more like knitting the purl stitches and purling the knit stitches. Could you explain this? I'm getting ribs, but I'm not sure if I'm doing it quite right. Thanks!
