Whit's Knits: Super Easy Baby Blanket

SEBBfinishedfolded2.jpg

Anyone who knows how to cast on, knit and cast off can make this baby blanket. But just because it's easy, doesn't mean this blanket's not wonderful. In fact, it's everything people want a baby blanket to be: machine washable, very soft, all natural, and beautiful.

I love garter stitch for a baby blanket because, besides being the same on both sides and lying flat, it is also very cushiony and cozy. My friend Roy really appreciated the cuddliness of garter stitch this weekend when the weather suddenly turned a bit chilly!

My local knitting store sold me two skeins of the farmhouse yarn in pink to knit a baby blanket (28 x 28). She told me to check this web site for the pattern. I looked at the super easy baby blanket which may or may not look nice in only one shade and just a stright knit. Beyond that, are two skeins enough?

Hi MJ,

I think your knitting store must have been talking about the Cuddly Cotton Baby Blanket which uses Farmhouse's I'm Allergic to Wool cotton yarn. Check that pattern out - I think it will make much more sense with the yarn you bought!

Thank you!

I have a 2 1/2 month old and would like to give him a security blanket...but it moght take me a while to finish this. How long do you think this would take and how old a baby is it for?

HI there!

It looks like the kit that I am interested in is sold out. Can you tell me what colors you used in the pink/lavender/yellow blanket (first row, second blanket) so I can purchase the yarns separate from the kit?

Thank you!

Stacey

I love it. Colours are beautiful and seems like something quick to make when time is short.

Will you be getting anymore kits in "the cherry bomb" or "funky monkey"? Love your website!

Hi Shari-

"Funky Monkey" and "Cherry Bomb" were just color ideas and not actual kits. We do still carry all of the colors of this yarn so if you'd like us to put the colors together for you please give us a call:
