Swatch Portraits - Enjoy!

Now that you've finished your portrait, hang it on the wall to admire it.  Lovely!

We think these hoops are a great and affordable way to decorate bare walls in any space, whether its a living room, a child's room, a dining room or your bedroom. They also make great quick gifts. Who knows, perhaps you'll finally use up some of that fabric you've got stashed around your home!

We hope you'll your swatch portraits with us in our Swatch Portrait Flickr Group.

What a neat idea! There are so many beautiful fabrics out there just screaming to be displayed for art's sake and this is an awesome way to do it. It has such a vintage feel to it. Truly awesome.

What a fantastic idea! I love this especially now that my mind is filled with ideas for dressing up my studio! I love the simplicity.

I think they would also work wonderfully for some other fun uses! I will make one as an earring holder to hang in my bedroom--just poke my earring right through! I think I will also make one with a few long strips of ribbon sewn onto it for my daughters hair clips!

Thanks for sharing!

This idea is genius!
Awhile ago I saw a wall of framed decorative papers at Anthropologie and thought that would be really fun to do. But this is much more economical and meaningful for the sewing/fabric obsessed! I love it!

Excellent idea. I can hear cheering from all the abandoned embroidery hoops at Goodwill right now. We're coming to get you, guys! Don't worry!

So simple and fabulous. I'd considered using hoops to frame my embroidery -- and now I think I will.

Thanks for the inspiration!

What a great idea! I was thinking I may take it even further and paint the hoops fun colors!

I am also wondering if the glue is completely necessary. Without it, you could change out the fabric to fit your mood or the seasons!

thats such a brilliant idea, I am off to buy my embroidery hoops right now!

Dear Purlbee-Team,

We love your work and would like to feature it in the Chinese interior design magazine 'tbjhome' (www.tbjhime.com) - We would need a high resolution picture (at least 1 MB) in jpeg format - we like best the last picture in this blog post.

I am writing this article about the different use of fabric to decorate your home and would appreciate very much your support.
Of course you will be mentioned and the blog and the fabric source (liberty). It will be in our next issue in January. Therfore I would need the picture by Friday, Dec 14.

Thank you and best regards

This is truly delightful!!! I will do some of these for my sewing room, fabric should be displayed as art, after all fabric is such a beautiful canvas.

I have visited NYC and the store. After seeing these on the wall, I bought some sewing themed fabric there and from other places. I have 8 in variouos sizes scattered across one wall of my sewing room (I'm not good enough yet to call it a studio). Thanks for the great idea. I can't wait to get back to NYC to visit the store again.
