Patterned Pouches

jewelry pouch1.jpgReproduction fabrics are far from stiff, parlor room affairs. These surprisingly fresh prints, featuring rich colors, fearless ornamentation, and daring combinations of geometry and natural subjects, are as varied as they are historic. 19th century textiles inspired psychedelic patterns of the 1960s and 70s; today these textiles send strong vibrations through the design world once again.  Fashionistas and craftinistas alike dig historic reproductions and the contemporary prints they inspire.

Isabelle made these pretty pouches by choosing a few high-contrast prints from Purl Patchwork. She had four requirements for this holiday project: they must be quick, easy, travel-ready, and nice to look at. For her how-to, check out the Patterned Jewelry Pouch Pattern.
