Love Letters, Vol. 835: Japanese Fabrics at Purl Patchwork

 echino.birds2.jpg

yuwa.suzuko2.jpgFresh out of the box, these prints from Japanese wonders Yuwa and Kokka are attracting passersby off the sidewalk with their high-watt designs and vivid colors. They glow, they sing, they might be magnetic. Consider yourself warned!

Yuwa Suzuko Flowers, left, cast a blissful spell on us. The simple, lightweight cotton compliments the whimsical vines and bursting blooms.

Kokka's latest prints include Abeille, a gentle collection of gliding birds and blooming trees. The soft cotton and simple details make this fabric irresistible.

Natural Bird and Yuwa Soft Dots are perfect companions.  We think they'd make a lovely totebag to bring on a spring picnic! Yuwa Soft Dots are a beautiful blend of linen and cotton that comes on an extra-large 54" bolt. Natural Bird and the other prints in the Echino collection, are printed on home decor weight cotton, which is a bit heavier and more resilient than quilt weight cotton.

I LUV the Japanese fabrics you feature. They really lend such an innocence and "comfort food" quality to projects. I think the Japanese designers have tapped into the precise facets of our recent past that define, for me, nostalgia without looking hopelessly dated.

Thanks for your immensely entertaing blog.

Hello,
Another blogger is posting photos on her site with minimal credit to the creator/author of the photo/tutorial/post. Yours is one of them. I asked her to credit me and she said the word "blog" above my burlap bag is a link (which it is) but it is NOT very evident. Here are your photos:

Perhaps if you contact her and let her know this is not good she will stop.
xoxo
