Tante Sophie Avait Un Chien

gumby.scarf.jpg

Our friends Ina Braun and her muse Gumby sent us this photo! Gumby is, as always, radiant and well accessorized, but today she models one of the scarves from Knitting New Scarves, by Lynne Barr.  Ina, who is a professional knitter and designer, saw our review of the new book here on the Purl Bee.  She instantly whipped up one of the most lovely projects: a scarf composed of cascading squares  She used just one skein of beautiful Blue Sky Suri Merino yarn, a luxurious mix of  warm merino wool and lofty suri alpaca fibers, in Sea Mist, and US size 6 needles.  Thanks for sharing the results with us!

Ina designs her own charming knitting patterns, called Tante Sophie Avait Un Chien, several of which are available at Purl. For more news of Gumby and the knits she inspires, don't miss Ina's website and blog:  www.tantesophie.com!

Oh my God, this is a beautiful scarf!
I just recived the book from Purl and it looks really fantastic. The patterns are all amazing and I can't wait to knit some of the scarves for some Christmas presents.

My mother's visiting right now, and we just started the "Meandering Stripes" scarf together -- making each wedge a different color -- and are having a lot of fun!

Oh what a beautiful blue scarf. I am just learning how to knit and that is just one piece that I simply must make when I get the hang of it!
