Colorful Crafting with Jen: The Sweetie Pie Hat

 jensmanoshatside.jpg

Since our beginning, Purl has been proud to carry the handcrafted yarns of Manos del Uruguay.  Manos was created by a community of Uruguayan craftspeople in the late 1960's in order to sustain their culture and preserve the time-honored traditions of hand-spinning and kettle-dyeing yarns. We're very excited to welcome the newest addition to their family of handcrafted fibers to our shelves: Manos Silk Blend, a delicate pairing of 30% silk and 70% wool, which is available in 10 semi-solid colors and 6 multi-colors.

Jen fell instantly in love with this beautiful new yarn and immediately got to work on this sweet and charming hat.  Visit her Sweetie Pie Hat Journal to find the pattern and make one of your own!

Great colorful hat!
I agree-- Manos Silk Blend is one of the nicest yarns I've
encountered in years.
It glides through your fingers and produces gorgeous stitches!

Those colors look delicious!! I swear you are making me want to learn to knit (but I already have "learn to quilt" on my list of things to do first!).

I am *just* learning to knit and have already heard so much about this luscious yarn! Even though I'm not much of a hat person, I'm dying to make this!

I purchased two skeins of this yarn in early December and did not know what to do with them until I discovered your pattern. Jen, this is such a cute hat! I've enjoyed the yarn, the pattern, and wearing it!
