We are very excited about our upcoming Babette Blanket class with guest teacher Ahza Moore.  This pattern was designed by Kathy Merrick for Interweave Crochet Spring 2006.  We've restocked this extremely popular edition in time for the class to start this Tuesday, February 13.

You can read about the process of making the blanket in Whitney's Babette Blanket Project Journal.  We hope you'll share photos of your own Babett Blankets with us in on flickr!

I really love this blanket! I'm looking to make it as well, with only 8 colors like you did, because I don't really like how the pattern uses so many colors. I was wondering how many skeins of each color you bought? Thanks.

Sara,
Whitney used 4 of each of the 8 colors she selected.

I don't know how to crochet, but I WISH this could be my first project! I'm going to save this pattern for after I'm done knitting my sweater. Thanks for the lovely idea!

Can anyone tell me where to find this pattern for the Babette blanket? Even tho the site says they have the Spring 2007 Crochet mag for sale, it doesn't come up on the page to order it.
I'd LOVE to make this blanket and use up my scraps (and also in chosen color schemes) but need a pattern to at least get me started.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Looks like we're temporarily sold out. We should have it in again soon. If you send an email requesting it to our website at customerservice@purlsoho.com they will notify you as soon as it comes in.

It's Ausgust in Australia and I've just found this fabulous blanket online. Do you sell this magazine in Australia?
I would love the pattern ready for winter in Oz 2008. I'm going to crochet it in Nundle wool which is a small country town in New South Wales that survivies because of the local woollen mill.
They sell fantastic clear colours in wool, like Kafe Fassett uses. Most inspiring!

I taught this class twice at BroadRipple KNits in Indianapolis. It was so much fun to see all the beautiful colors of cascade 220 the girls all chose and put together. Will teach again to anyone who wants to stop by in Indy. Will be back in April.. All the different size squares make it fun and never boring. It has so much surprizing color in all the beautiful different size squares.
