Hints of Spring from Liberty of London - Tana Lawn Seasonal Prints!

tanabird.jpg

Hurray!  New Liberty of London Tana Lawn Seasonal Prints have arrived at Purl! These eclectic prints have us as happy as a lark who has just seen her first cherry blossom.

tanaflowerheads.jpgLiberty of London's legendary cotton prints are lighter than air and impossibly soft.  Quilters and crafters covet Liberty's Tana Lawn collection for its peerless quality and delightful prints. For garments, pillows, quilts, or accessories, we love this heirloom quality fabric.

LIBERTY QUILT

This incredible quilt is made entirely of Liberty fabric that the quilter had collected for nearly thirty years. It was on display at the epic 2007 Tokyo Quilt Festival; we got to see it thanks to movinghands, who shared it in an equally epic flickr set.

This was one of my top three favorites in the whole show. Flying geese at first glance. But some blocks are stretched, and up close look like mini forests. This quilt was made entirely out of Liberty prints. The maker said that she started collecting Liberty fabric as a teenager, and finally put them all together in a quilt that she wants to use as a "bedcover in old age." Charming.

We couldn't agree more: charming!  Thanks movinghands for sharing this with us!

The Liberty fabrics are gorgeous and I totally lust after them! However I currently have none of my own. I was just wondering if you had considered selling some sort of charm packs or fat quarters packs or some set of some kind for those of us who want to try the Liberty fabrics but can't decide on just one or two prints...

Hi Amanda,
What a great idea! We'll add it to our list of things we want to do. Maybe we'll get it done in the next couple of weeks? I think fat 1/4's would be nice... Joelle
