Naturally Beautiful Yarns, Part 3

O-WOOL BALANCE

Vermont Organic Fiber Company supplies manufacturers in all different industries with organic wool.  Their mission is to provide "comfortable, practical, and beautiful products made with the highest quality fibers, yarns, and fabrics", while supporting positive-impact growing practices.

O-Wool Balance is their first yarn for hand knitters; it combines rich merino wool with soft cotton. As a knitted fabric, the cotton contributes a cool, matte feel, while the wool fills in each stitch with warm fibers.  The tweed texture gives Balance a handsome, humble look that belies its noble purpose.

O-Wool Balance is comforting, warm, and easy to wear.  Children's knits are particularly nice projects for cotton/wool blend yarns since they can be worn nearly year round. Here are a few suggestions from some of our favorite designers of children's knits. These patterns happen to be designed for Blue Sky Cotton (which we wrote about on Wednesday), but they are suitable for several of the natural yarns we highlighted this week: O-Wool Balance, The Fibre Company Organik and Blue Sky Handspun Organic Cotton

Hunter Sweater from Mac and Me is a slouchy, comfy, play-friendly sweater.  The pattern is sized for free range kids age 1 - 12.

Baby Bolero from Leigh Radford is as sweet as can be! This darling pattern calls for special yarn to complete an all-natural wardrobe for your wee one.

The yarns look beautiful, and the patterns too. I love all the tutorials, they are very helpful to me as a novice knitter :)
I hope I may add you to my list of blogs I love to visit.

Hmm..I thought their first yarn for handknitters was O-Wool Classic? The worsted weight 100% wool yarn?
