Ask Purl Bee: Sewing Knitting

co14.jpg

Please send your craft questions to us at Ask Purl Bee! You can find all of the Ask Purl Bee posts in our archives.

This question comes from Sappmama:

What is the best method for attaching fabric backing to a knitted blanket?  I've done it -- here, if you'd care to look: on purlyvictorious --but it was quite a challenge. I used my sewing machine, but I'm wondering if there is a better, neater way.

Knitted fabric is all about stretch, and woven fabric is all about stability, so it's easy to understand why this project can be so vexing.  Don't worry!  There are several easy steps to attaching knitted (or crocheted) fabric to woven fabric; you can find them in our new Sewing Knitting Tutorial
