Liesl's Backpack is Back!
The Liesl+Co. Backpack Tote Pattern is back in stock for a limited time! Now you can get the limitied edition pattern by itself or along with the rings and rivets used fasten the straps. The hardware comes in two different finishes: gold or silver.
Our friend and disdressed blogger Liesl created this pattern for ambitious beginner and intermediate crafters who want to tackle more advanced techniques. It features interior and exterior pockets, a zipper, and extra-sturdy construction techniques.
We think this project is a great excuse to combine exciting fabrics, like the vibrant home decorating weight cottons from Kokka: Etsuko Furuya Echino (shown here) and Amy Butler's brand new Nigella Collection! The more color, the better!
We are currently out of this fantastic pattern (again!) Liesl is getting more printed, never fear! We'll let you know when they arrive. In the meantime, feel free to call us at the shop, we may have a few copies lurking around (212) 420-8798. --purl bee

Unless you have a store that is really well stocked with notions in your area I'd recommend getting the hardware kit.
I ordered only the pattern, wrongly assuming that one of the local fabric stores would have the magnetic closure, o-rings, and rivets, and now I'm stalled out on the project waiting for them to arrive by mail. I still don't know if I have the proper rivets. My guess is that jeans rivets are what is called for? I'm going to try pop rivets from the hardware store.
It's going to be worth the wait, though, as this is going to be one solid, well constructed bag when it's done!

We would be happy to sell you the hardware kit on its own (that is without the pattern) if you're still having trouble finding all of the elements. Just give us a call at the shop, we can mail it out to you wherever you are. 212 420-8798
