well, i requested my tickets...we'll see (fingers crossed). its my birthday week, too, so that would be so fun! i am hoping to be finished my hourglass sweater to wear and my next project is going to be the child's placket pullover for a baby shower gift. i have a sizing question for the hourglass sweater...can i ask here? is the 37" size too big if my actual measurement is 33.5"? thanks!!! :)

Hi Melissa,
I think I would do the next size smaller unless you want a very roomy sweater. Good luck with the tickets, do let us know! --Joelle

Thanks so much for the info on the show! I live in NJ and put in for tickets for my Aunt (an amazing knitter), myself (not an amazing knitter) and my daughter (who is about to turn 10) and a new knitter! I mentioned the Purl Bee, of course! Thanks!

Thank you so much!

Hand knitting is only the first step. There are hundreds of us machine knitters, too, who would like equal time. How about a follow-up show for machine knitting, the next step?

Hopefully, the show will also be a show case for items knit on a loom with 200 needles as well as hand-knits done with 2 needles... I find them as interesting if not more interesting. Its surprising how many knit designers for the magazines use the knit looms to create their garments.

Melissa,
Yay! I'm so happy you got your tickets, have a great time at the show, and be sure to stop by purl or purl patchwork that day if you have time. xox-Joelle

We got tickets too! Wahoo! My friend, Rebecca, and I will be going to the Feb. 20th taping and not only will we be wearing various knit items, but we'll also be bringing the blanket that was created for Rebecca when she found out she had breast cancer last year
http://rebeccasblanket.blogspot.com
The blanket was a collaborative effort made up of 40 different squares knit by 27 knitters from 3 continents including 9 U.S. states (and including the Yarn Harlot!). We can't wait to "show" Martha the blanket and see the show live! Thanks for the tip, Purl Bee! Oh, we can't wait to visit Purl Soho too, since we're traveling from Minnesota!

Catherine,
Great news! The blanket is so special, what a great opportunity to share its story. See you at purl! --Joelle
