New Classes at Purl Patchwork

clas6

Embroidery by Hand with Ani

Wednesdays  March 5th and 12th. 7:15- 9:15pm $85

We're excited to announce a new beginning embroidery class at Purl Patchwork taught by Ani, who many of you will recognize if you shop at the store. Embroidery is one of the most wonderfully addicting crafts and it's not hard to learn. In this two session class you'll learn the basics of hand embroidery using your choice of cute iron on patterns. By the end you'll be able to embroider on anything from a dishtowel to a T-Shirt! No sewing experience is required.

clas4

Machine Sewing with Phyllis

Saturdays March 15th, 22nd and 29th  9:00am-Noon $150

In other class news Phyllis has taken over teaching our beginning machine sewing class. This class is a great way to start sewing. You'll make a simple tote bag and zippered pouch (like the one pictured above, made out of the adorable mini animals fabric from Kokka). No experience is required and you don't even have to own a sewing machine.

As always we also offer comprehensive quiltmaking classes taught by our expert quiltmaker Cassandra. Check out a full and updated schedule of classes here.

We hope to see you soon!

Well, I'm out here in the boonies of Connecticut. I would totally be there for the embroidery classes if not for the distance. How about some online classes? I'm just saying...think about it.

or more classes on the weekend! it's hard to get out there if you're in the uptown area and don't want to be coming back late at night :)

Hello,

I check out this site almost every day, and I just wanted to say thanks for posting so many inspiring photos, tutorials, and information! I always get excited as the page is loading, and I walk away feeling like I really CAN finish my sewing/knitting projects.

I live in CO, and have never been to your store, but it's on my list of Must Dos. :)

Please have some of the quilting classes on a saturday or sunday morning. I can come into the city for those classes. Otherwise, I live too far to come in for evenings and travel back home.

All of these classes look so great (esp the machine quilting classes)! If you had a one-time, full day workshop on a weekend, I'd be there (I work for an airline and can zip up there from my home in Texas). Purl SOHO is one of my favorite places in NYC and can't wait 'til my next visit!

First off, that rainbow is just adorable.
Just wanted to say hi. I have been reading since I was looking into Squarespace a year and a half ago or so. And of course, like everyone else in the world (right?), I love Last Minute Patchwork.

Do you guys teach crochet to little girls? I have a 7 year old who loves to create things...I thought it would be a good idea to enroll her in a class of crochet.
