Knitted + Sewn Easter Egg Ornaments!

eggtree.jpg

These beautiful little eggs not only celebrate Easter, but they also welcome the early blooming bushes of spring. Molly's Patchwork Eggs perfectly adorn these forsythia branches, while Whitney's Knitted Eggs make their homes right alongside their fabric cousins.

They're as fun to make and decorate as real eggs are. We've only scratched the surface of possibilities. Bring out your whole craft bag of embroidery floss, trimmings, buttons, silk flowers, beads, and on and on. We figured out the basic structures so you can have all the fun!

To learn how to sew Easter Egg Ornaments, visit Molly's Patchwork Easter Eggs Project Journal.  Or, if knitted eggs are your cup of tea, go to Whitney's Knitted Easter Eggs Project Journal

Happy Easter! --Molly and Whitney

I am so happy that there are other people like me, awake at 1 am on a Sunday morning, thinking about crafts.

We always had an easter egg tree growing up, but the ornaments were little wooden eggs and bunnies. I am going to have to start my own collection of knit and sewn eggs now to carry on the tradition. What a wonderful project!

Love this blog. I really like the knitted Easter Eggs, wow! I wonder how they would turn out if I felted them. Hmmmm

I love the felting process....my purses turn out really structured and different.

I'll be back!

Love the eggs. I made them all in one piece, revising the directions so that you cast on for the bottom, increase to the middle and knit even for a while and then decrease to the top. These may be addictive.
