Whit's Knits: Pretty Lace Hand Warmers

PLHdone2.jpg

These little fingerless mitts are very simple to make and so fun to wear. They're sassy, but not harlot-y; dainty, but not prissy; old fashioned, but not out of style. Like great shoes, I think they're going to elevate everything I wear for the next two months to undeserved heights!

To make a pair or two or three, visit my Pretty Lace Hand Warmers Project Journal.  Thanks! -Whitney

These are so pretty! I've just clicked on your tutorial - the photographs are fantastic and it's all so easy to follow. I'm definitely adding these to my 'to-knit' list!

Hi! The mittens are beautiful. I´ve just started a pair yesterday, but I´ll try this then. The color is really nice.
Thanks for the pattern.

Hi,
These are so beautiful, but maybe you can help me? I have tried starting them twice now, and I don't understand. The yarnovers without knitting two together seem to increase the number of stitches until they just get too big. This happens in row 4 of the pattern in several places. What am I doing wrong? You're pictures are gorgeous but they don't seem to look like the number of stitches increase. Thanks for any help!

Hi Jan,
It looks like you're overlooking the ssk decrease on the 4th row, which is a left slanting decrease. If you're not familiar with this stitch here is our tutorial for how to do it.

Hope this helps!

Hi, these look beautiful..I'm going to try and make them in the UK. Do you know what weight of wool I should be looking for here?

Hi Janie,
Any yarn that will give you 22-24 stitches to 10 cm will work.
Good luck!
