Announcing New Ribbons, Cards and Wrapping paper at Purl

When you've spent so much time hand crafting a gift for someone special, it's a shame to cut corners on the presentation. We've just received some very special ribbons, notecards and wrapping paper at Purl that will help you make the outside of the gift feel as special as what's inside.  Since we believe in using the finest natural fibers and fabrics for your hand-made gifts, we decided it was time to offer the same level of quality when it comes to adding the final touch.

We're so excited about the arrival of what we consider to be the most irresistible type of ribbon that creates the prettiest bows around. Our sumptuous double faced 100% silk ribbon comes in an elegant rainbow of colors (just a few of which are pictured above).  Once you've used 100% silk ribbon, you'll never want to use anything else. The drape and depth of color of silk is like no other! The above colors are (from left to right); mint, avocado, yellow, pumpkin, bright red and hot pink.  The largest gift in the first picture (purple and orange in color) measures 9.5-inches x 8-inches x 2-inches and uses approximately 2 yards of ribbon to wrap.

To complete the gift, we have a beautiful new range of letterpressed and handstitched cards and printed wrapping paper from the super talented Valerie Ormiston at Pikku. When we first stumbled upon these notecards, we knew Pikku and Purl were a match made in heaven. The gorgeous letterpressed designs coupled with the handstitched details were a must-have for Purl. Needless to say, we were thrilled to learn that she made wrapping paper in coordinating prints. The above cards are Pikku's new Patchqwirk cards that resemble sweet little paper quilts! It is sure to be the card that makes it up on the fridge!

Happy wrapping!

I thoroughly enjoy these gifts. The patterns and colors of the paper are so crisp and artful. A friend of mine always takes time to wrap her gifts in similar paper and ribbons, followed by a loving handmade card. This always makes me feel extra special to know that she took time to make everything especially pretty.
