Whit's Knits: Summer Kerchief

I love the images that a kerchief conjures up in my head: a crisp gingham shirt, a rickety three speed bike, a basket of fresh produce. Whether you're living a Provencal fantasy or are more like the rest of us: dirty jeans, a crosstown bus and Chinese take out, a cotton kerchief is a secret weapon for feeling fresh faced and energized.

Purl Patchwork's manager, Nikki, is always adorable, but the kerchief's not hurting! She took a quick break from cutting fat quarters to model the Summer Kerchief in front our favorite Sullivan Street cafe called Local.

This quick and fun knit is especially satisfying in Blue Sky's Skinny Cotton, a beautiful, clean cotton that comes in lots of colors, from soft organics to fruity brights. Two skeins is enough for at least two kerchiefs, so make one for you and one for a friend! Visit my Summer Kerchief Project Journal to learn how. Thanks! - Whitney

I love it! So sad though... the project journal link doesn't seem to be working. :-(

These kerchief's look so pretty, everyone seemed to have one in the mid-sixties, then they went away -- perhaps we can bring them back again into the fashionable 20 teens!

Perfect timing, I've been searching for a quick kerchief pattern for me and my wild haired girls. Thanks Whitney!
