Luxurious Wool Blanket

Of all of my handmade projects, this luxurious, organic wool-melton blanket is definitely my favorite. I can't wait to bundle up with it during the winter! The rich tone of the organic wool-melton from O-Wool is complimented perfectly by the vibrant print from Liberty of London that I used to bind the edge.  Although I'm planning to keep this blanket for myself, it would also make a great gift. --Molly

Knit One, Purl One for the Road: Isabelle's Cross-Country Road Trip!

Our friend and Purl Bee writer Isabelle is moving!  She'll be heading west from New York City to Seattle at the end of this month.  Along the way, Isabelle will need a car-friendly craft to work on when she's not driving or taking pictures out of the window.  To help her prepare, we have a question for you:

What is your favorite road trip craft?

What crafts translate best to the highways and byways? Have you been inspired by a quirky roadside attraction, a diner's blinking neon letters, a farmstand, or a monument?

Please share your most memorable road knitting, sewing, or other crafts with us in the comments section below!

A Nod to Purl from New York's Bravest

We are honored that our humble storefront captured the attention of our friendly local firehouse EMS team, who chose it as their symbol of the neighborhood for their new uniform patch!  They wanted to represent the vibrant arts scene of lower Manhattan, so they took our little slice of Sullivan Street and added some guitars to suit their "rockn" theme.

Now the 63rd precinct of FDNY - EMS will wear our neighborhood proudly on their uniform wherever they go! Not only are they brave, they have great taste too!
